BLACKHALL manufactures and repairs a wide range of valves. The Company is committed to maintaining a healthy and safe working environment and safeguarding the health, safety and welfare of its employees.

To achieve this, the company operates an Occupational Health and Safety Management System in accordance with OHSAS 18001 that identifies hazards, assesses risks and in particular seeks to:

  • Comply with all applicable health and safety legislation and other occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Reduce the risks of illness, accidents and incidents in the workplace to the lowest level reasonably practicable.
  • Continually improve health and safety performance.

The Company's Quality Manual describes the management system used to set objectives and to control, review and improve health and safety performance and is implemented via procedures, work instructions and/or training, as appropriate. This manual, together with current health and safety objectives will be made available to interested parties on request.

Recent investment has been made to reduce manual handling and noise pollution and to improve working environments through extraction and degreasing equipment. There is a continuing and on-going Health and Safety auditing process, which is run in parallel with an absolute commitment to the Five S's

All business units have easy access into the buildings and investment has been made to provide for those with special needs including lifts, car parking and toilet facilities.

There is a company-wide unlimited budget for any safety-related issue.
