Large Gate Valves For The Port of Newport. The first of 3 Hydraulically operated 60" Bore Wedge Gate Valves has been fully refurbished and is now operational at Newport Docks South Wales. The Valves were originally manufactured by J Blakeborough & Sons, Brighouse in 1963. The work for Associated British Ports, has been done in conjunction with Qualter Hall & Co Ltd in Barnsley. The repair of the next 2 valves will be completed by the end of the 2009. Before & After pictures can be seen on the right. |
