Engineering Development Manager |
| Company Responsibilities |
I have spent all of my working life in the valve industry in various technical roles. At Blakeborough Valves I was in the water
and steam section; Weir Valves and Controls in the control valve division; and Shaw Valves in the technical department where I
developed a range of hazardous duty isolation valves, with zero emissions. This product won the Queens Award for the Environment
at the time. I have therefore built up a wide range of experience complemented by our other experienced, and qualified, technical
staff. Currently I have a wide range of responsibilities centred on the company's technical activities and processes,
covering 3D rapid prototyping to application engineering. A strong element of my role is technical support to both internal
and external demands.
In short, if there are technical issues, I'm involved somewhere along the line!

| Hobbies/Interests |
I enjoy, when weather or time permits, quite a range of varied outdoor activities: Mountain Biking - plenty of hills around here in
Yorkshire! Kite flying-mainly power kites - I'm a member of the Northern Kiting Group, and I am currently attempting to be an RC
heli pilot, for the still days when there is no wind to fly a kite! Ha ha! But this hobby is proving quite a difficult one to master.
I also have a go at fresh water fishing occasionally catching the odd Grayling or Trout.
For when I can't be bothered to be out and about in the cold I keep cold water and marine fish.
